ANAMBRA YOUTHS DARE ENGR JOHNBOSCO ONUNKWO, GIVE HIM 21 DAYS ULTIMATUM

Hundreds of youths gathered on Saturday in Awka, the capital city of Anambra State to air their opinion on the dangling situation of the state, and to chart a way forward for the emancipation of youths in the State.

The gathering, which was attended by over 15 Youth Volunteer groups and Association was engineered to create an avenue of formal discussion of the polity of the state politics, and ways youths can synergize to ensure that they are no longer used as thugs and hoodlums during elections, only to be dumped after the polls.

The youths agreed that it was high time they threw their weight of support behind another youth, since the elders have grossly lived beyond expectations of the electorate that voted them in. Youths at the event expressed in their different opinions reasons why a youth like Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo should be urged to contest, being a youth with the wherewithal to stir the required storm that can make a youth emerge winner in the 2017 gubernatorial polls.

Citing their reasons of urging Onunkwo to vie for the governor of the state, the groups said it became necessary to seek for a youth who understands youth, as it would be fair for someone who is pained to speak on behalf of others, as he will clearly highlight the pain of others, and Johnbosco Onunkwo is worthy enough to champion the cause of the youths.

The conference ended with a communiqué where the youths gave Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo 21days ultimatum to declare his interest to run for the gubernatorial elections or forfeit the support of the youths. The Communiqué was signed by the head of the youth groups.

Amnesty International: We will take Buhari to court, if mob attack is not stopped – SERAP

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has threatened to sue the Presidency headed by Muhammadu Buhari, unless necessary measures are taken immediately to end the mob attack on Amnesty International or any other civil society group in the country.

The group made this threat in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its Deputy Director, Timothy Adewale. This follows the ultimatum given by protesters who stormed the Abuja office of Amnesty International, demanding the international organisation to quit Nigeria within 24 hours.

According to SERAP, President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo need to speak out strongly against intimidation and harassment of Amnesty International Office in Nigeria and its staff or leave the group with no option but to take appropriate legal actions nationally and internationally including approaching the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders for a remedy.

The group called on the Presidency to “urgently instruct appropriate authorities to promptly and thoroughly investigate apparently sponsored and coordinated attacks against Amnesty International Office in Nigeria, and ensure the safety and security of its staff.”

The statement added that; “any failure to hold to account those who may be responsible will invariably increase the vulnerability of civil society in the country, and strengthen the perception that attacks against NGOs and human rights workers can happen with impunity.”

The statement reads in part: “If the Buhari government does not take all necessary measures to immediately end the mob attack on Amnesty International or any other civil society group for that matter, SERAP will be compelled to take appropriate legal action nationally and internationally including approaching the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders for a remedy.”
“SERAP will continue to work to challenge any attempt to restrict, silence or eliminate the voices of credible civil society in the country. We urge the presidency to speak out strongly against intimidation and harassment of Amnesty International Office in Nigeria and its staff.

Investigating the attacks against AI, naming and shaming the sponsors and bringing them to justice will send a powerful message of protection and support to civil society groups who stand up to speak truth to power.”

“Any attack on Amnesty International Office in Nigeria or harassment and intimidation of its staff members is an assault on the entire human rights community in the country. Sponsoring protests against NGOs that have shown astonishing courage in their human rights work hurt those most in need, undermine access of Nigerian victims of human rights violations and abuses to justice, and contribute to a culture of impunity of perpetrators.”

“This government has an obligation to support and protect civil society groups and human rights defenders against violence and sponsored attacks. Nigeria is a democratic society and the government can’t just sit back and watch reprisals, threats and increasing hostility to Amnesty International in particular and the NGO community in general.”

“Under the Constitution of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and international human rights law, everyone whose rights are violated is entitled to a right to an effective remedy. Exposing human rights violations and seeking redress for them is largely dependent on the degree of security enjoyed by civil society groups and human rights defenders.

Protecting NGOs against sponsored attacks and ending impunity for such attacks is therefore a critical element in the promotion and protection of human rights in this country.”

“While some may not like to hear some of the things Amnesty International has said, this in no way justifies this kind of mob attack on its office and staff members. The authorities should show commitment to protecting the right to freedom of expression and guarantee conditions for civil society to flourish.”

Mourinho: Manchester United slower than my Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho says he has had to adapt to the qualities of his Manchester United players, claiming the team is slower than his Real Madrid side.
The 54-year-old won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana during a three-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu before he returned to England to take charge of Chelsea for the second time.

Madrid scored a league-best 121 goals in their title-winning campaign of 2011-12, while they also won a record 16 away matches and 32 in total - a figure that was matched by Barcelona a year later.

United have shown progress since Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal as manager but have often been found wanting in front of goal this season, failing to score in home games against Burnley and Bournemouth and only finding the net more than three times in a single match on one occasion.

Mourinho claims he would be "in s***" if he used a counter-attacking style at Old Trafford but admits that United are limited given their lack of pace.

Asked if he does not like possession-based play, he told France Football: "That is not true. This season, we have an enormous percentage of ball possession in almost all our matches. But again, everything depends on the technical characteristics of the players that you have at your disposal. On what will enable the team to win.

"People sometimes confuse ball possession with the number of goals you score. They forget that the aim is to always score and win. At Real, I had a team that broke the record for the number of goals scored in the history of the Spanish league: 121 goals in one season. It was the best in the world in terms of transition play, in terms of being effective in recovery, and then in terms of projecting the ball towards the goal.

"The answer was magnificent."

"Cristiano Ronaldo was 27, [Angel] Di Maria was 23, [Karim] Benzema and [Gonzalo] Higuain were 23 or 24. It was the team that killed everyone. Why would I change that? Because the Manchester United team is different. It is slower. They do not have quick players and have a desire to have the ball, in order to be dominant with play.
"Zlatan Ibrahimovic needs touches of the ball in order to play. [Ander] Herrera, [Michael] Carrick and [Paul] Pogba, too. Sometimes, in the last 20 minutes, I explore other options, and I put Marcus Rashford on to go in another direction. But, generally, I try to make do with the qualities that my players have.

"My team plays in this way or that way because that corresponds to the players that I have. It is as simple as that. If I tried to play on the counter with Manchester United, I am in s**t. If you want to play possession with a team where the players dribble a lot, take the maximum risks, push forward quickly, I would kill the potential of the players.

"I could have said to Di Maria, who was faster than an arrow: 'You do not dribble, you play with one touch, you pass the ball, because I do not want to lose'. But I prefer to play with the qualities that my players have."

8 - Jose Mourinho has won each of his last 8 European home games (Chelsea – 3, Man Utd – 5), scoring 21 and conceding just 2. Powerhouse.

Mourinho was appointed to replace Van Gaal, whose cautious approach had caused huge frustration among United fans despite delivering the FA Cup for the first time since 2004.

However, the former Inter boss says he learned a valuable lesson from his predecessor during their time at Barcelona that he still utilises to this day.

"I do not need 'yes men'," he said. "I want people who have their own opinions. And even people who contest my decisions, questioning them.

"I always say to my assistants: 'During the match, I want to think alone'. I do not want to have someone who is going to talk next to me, to tell me things. In those moments, I want to put together my expertise, with my instinct, with my feeling.

"I want to manage the team by myself. During the week, however, before or after matches, I am counting on them to behave like managers, who think for themselves, who think about what I say, who criticise me, who ask me questions for me to explain what I am doing with the team. I learnt that at Barcelona with Mr Van Gaal. That is what he demanded from his assistants."

Cahill: I can never replace Terry

Gary Cahill says he has learned from the best in John Terry, but insists he will never be able to fill the Chelsea captain's boots.

England defender Cahill has been a mainstay of the Chelsea defence since moving to Stamford Bridge from Bolton Wanderers in January 2012 and for the majority of that time has partnered Blues legend Terry at centre-back.

However, this season Terry has found himself out of the line-up in Antonio Conte's favoured 3-4-3 formation, leaving Cahill to wear the armband.

Cahill spoke about filling in as captain and says he has learned plenty from Terry's approach to the game and will continue to do so while he remains at Stamford Bridge.

"I would never try to fill John Terry's boots. You can never fill that position.

When I took over as captain this season, either through him not being picked or not being available, it was a privilege to do that," Cahill told Standard Sport.
"Firstly, I have learned from how he manages himself, how he plays and how he does things. But secondly, I never thought for one minute, or will ever think, that I am replacing him.

"He is right at the top and whoever comes in after him is never going to achieve what he has done at the club. It is one of those situations where you have to separate yourself from it.

"The way that I prepare, the way that I play, the way that I like to speak to the lads or manage situations is the way that I do things.

"Nothing has changed in my game since I had that armband, apart from the fact I am now 31 and I have learned a lot from someone like him. I will continue to learn from him while he is at the club. I have been my own man. I feel like I can be me but I have obviously learned from the best."

Cahill added that Terry has left him to act as captain in his own way.
"We have a great relationship, everyone knows that. John leaves me to get on with it," he added.

"I do not think he looks at me like a 21-year-old coming through. He knows I have played my fair share of big games and am experienced enough to handle it.

"At the same time, I have always tried in my career to look at what people do and soak it in myself. I just watch and learn from all kinds of people and he is, obviously, one of them."

Kiss Daniel Accused of Stealing

The Silent Music Company (TSMC) has
accused Kiss Daniel and another singer,
Sugarboy, of stealing their artiste, Barz’ song.

In a post put up on their Instagram page, TSMC, which is the home of upcoming singer Barz, says Kiss Daniel and Sugarboy released a copy of Barz’ song under a new title ‘Kilamiti‘ after Barz had dropped a similar single.

And that’s not all.

TSMC says Kilamiti was worked on by the same producer LuisAMG, who produced Barz’ song last year.

“We are making this press release because we want the general public to know the injustice which have been done to us and our business,”

TSMC said in their statement last night,
adding, “We definitely will have our lawyer look into this matter and will share with the world eon its progress.
This update came just hours after filmmaker Chinneylove accused Triple MG music boss Ubi Franklin of stealing her movie script. Like it was during the Omoni Oboli vs Jude Idada case, the music boss refused to address it.

Now, yet another copyright infringement accusation has been reported in the Nigerian entertainment industry, and as at press time, Kiss Daniel had yet to speak up.

Read the full statement the music

company posted on their Instagram last night: “We at “The Silent Music Company” TSMC, will like the general public to be aware of the injustice brought our way by G worldwide Ent,
home record label to Kiss Daniel and Sugarboy.

A song titled ‘kilamiti’ was created by our artist BARZ @iam_barz, produced by LuisAMG @luisamgondeck and had Sugarboy @sugarboygww of G-worldwide featured on the
song.

We contacted Sugarboy’s management when we wanted to drop the song back in June 2016 and we have chat evidence of sugarboy telling me and I quote “my management get strict policy on featuring. Abi u don see kiss daniel
on any song wey dem feature am? but una fit drop the song, i no go fit dey the video sha”
The song was later dropped on all the major
blogs in Nigeria, Ghana and UK and promoted
on June 11 2016. Most of the radio stations in Nigeria have played this song, the video was also shot by Director Q and dropped November 2016 without sugarboy involved, and the video has been promoted and played on vaious platforms and TV stations.

Today a copyright of our artiste’s song was dropped by Sugarboy feat Kiss Daniel titled ‘Kilamity’ as against “Kilamiti” with the aid of same producer LuisAMG. (We also have prove of online banking transfer showing we paid off the producer for his job done).

We are making this press release because we want the general public to know the injustice which have been done to us and our business.

We definitely will have our lawyer look into this matter and will share with the world on its progress. Thank you for your time”

Cristiano Ronaldo crowned Portugal 2016 best player

Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been named Portugal’s Player of the Year for 2016. Ronaldo led his country to their first major title at the European Championship last summer.

He beat club teammate Pepe and Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patricio to the prize.

The 32-year-old forward also led Real Madrid to their 11th Champions League triumph last May, converting the winning penalty to secure the title ahead of Atletico Madrid. He also finished as the competition’s top scorer with 16 goals.

Ronaldo sustained early injury in the Euro 2016 final against hosts France, but Portugal pushed on to win the game in extra-time, marking the national team’s greatest-ever triumph at the Stade de France last July.

Ronaldo said at the Quinas de Ouro gala on Monday, “It was a very special year for me because the Euros was the only trophy I was still missing.

“I want to thank the Portuguese people again, they gave us confidence on our way to the title.”

Other award-winners on the night included Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, who won the best young player award.

National team manager, Fernando Santos was named coach of the year.

Trump’s DOJ sends documents related to Wiretap Claim to House Panel

The Department of Justice (DOJ) sent documents to the House Intelligence Committee on Friday in response to a request for evidence backing up President Trump’s claim that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower.

The committee is currently reviewing the documents, an aide confirmed to The Hill. It’s unclear what’s in the documents, which CNN reported separately had also been delivered to the Senate Intelligence Committee, though that report could not be immediately confirmed.

Leaders on the House panel sent a letter to the DOJ last week asking for evidence related to Trump’s claim earlier this month that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower ahead of the presidential election. A spokesman for Obama denied at the time that he or any White House official ordered such surveillance.

On Monday, the DOJ asked for more time to produce the documents, bucking a March 13 deadline set by the committee. Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) indicated that the committee could subpoena the department for the documents if they were not received by Monday, when the panel holds a hearing.

Trump tweeted March 4 accusing Obama of having his “wires tapped” in Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign. He has stood by his claim despite lawmakers in both parties saying as of Thursday that they had not seen evidence to support his allegation.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has sought to clarify the claim, saying that Trump put the wiretapping accusation “in quotes” and was more broadly referring to surveillance activities by the Obama administration.

But Spicer also said that Trump “stands by” his initial tweets on the subject, and Trump on Friday joked about the wiretapping claim during a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The House Intelligence Committee will hold an open hearing on Russian interference in the election on Monday, where questions about Trump’s claims are sure to be raised. Lawmakers will have the opportunity to press FBI Director James Comey on the issue.

Buffon almost joined Barcelona - agent

Iconic Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon nearly joined Barcelona instead of the Serie A giants, his agent Silvano Martina revealed.

Buffon left Parma for Juventus in 2001 and the 39-year-old has since gone on to become one of the greatest keepers of all-time, winning seven Scudetti among other trophies.

However, Italy's most-capped player almost moved to Camp Nou following an agreement with the LaLiga powerhouse.

"Yes, it was close," Martina told TuttoJuve as Juve prepare to face Barca in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, starting April 11.

"There was an agreement between Parma and Barcelona, but he picked Juventus."
Buffon is out of contract at the end of next season and the veteran shot-stopper has shown no signs of slowing down.

He could play beyond the 2018 World Cup in Russia but Martina said: "I don't know [if he will play until he is 40].
"He will decide when it should be when the time comes."

Buffon has been a mainstay for five-time defending champions Juve this season, playing 25 Serie A games and 33 in all competitions.

Iniesta: I didn´t want to move to Barca

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta revealed he did not want to leave his hometown to join the Spanish giants as a youngster.

Spain international Iniesta, 32, was 12 when he uprooted himself from Fuentealbilla in Albacete for Barcelona after making trips with his family to meet club officials.

Reflecting on his early career, Iniesta said he needed a lot of convincing to leave his family behind at such a young age.

"The first response was that I did not want to come because I put my family bond before going to a place so far away and without them," Iniesta told beIN Sports.

"The passage of the weeks and talk with my father made me see it as a challenge.

"With my father I have a lot of confidence, a lot of affinity and I know that when he tells me things, he usually succeeds.

"I respect my father and I knew I had to take the plunge. After that, it was the worst months of my life as a person, but with the help of everyone, day by day, it was much better."

Iniesta has since gone on to win eight La Liga titles, four Champions League crowns and numerous other trophies.

The veteran midfielder has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season as Barca bid to retain their LaLiga title and win the Champions League.

United victory over Wednesday biggest in PL era - Neville reflects on 600 wins

Gary Neville believes Manchester United's dramatic turnaround against Sheffield Wednesday nearly 25 years ago is their most significant Premier League victory after the club celebrated 600 wins.

United became the first team to win 600 Premier League matches thanks to their 3-1 victory at struggling Middlesbrough on a landmark Sunday.

There have been some jaw-dropping moments in United's history but Steve Bruce's pair of late headers that earned a stunning 2-1 victory and virtually sealed the 1992-93 Premier League title, triggering an era of dominance under manager Alex Ferguson, is the win that stands out to former captain Neville.

"The biggest Premier League win was definitely in the first season when they won the league," Neville - who won eight Premier League trophies after emerging through United's youth ranks - told Omnisport.

"In 1992-93 when Steve Bruce scored those two headers against Sheffield Wednesday.

"That is the single biggest ever Manchester United victory in a Premier League game that I can think of."
How's that for #MondayMotivation?
pic.twitter.com/KShVQ5Eaq2
— Manchester United (@ManUtd) March 20, 2017
April 10 was the date United seized control in the race to be crowned champions in the first season of the Premier League.

Going head-to-head with Aston Villa for silverware, United trailed Wednesday with four minutes of normal time remaining at Old Trafford, before Bruce turned the match and the title race on its head.

Bruce equalised in the 86th minute and the centre-back then bulleted another header past Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Woods to spark pandemonium in the stands and pitch side, with Ferguson running on to the pitch to celebrate with assistant Brian Kidd.

At 600 and counting, Jose Mourinho's United will be looking to chalk up more wins after the international break as they aim to secure Champions League football for next season.

United are fifth in the standings, four points adrift of rivals Liverpool with two games in hand.

Mourinho's men are back in action against West Brom on April 1.

Stephanie Otobo Vs Apostle Suleiman Saga: Singer re-arraigned by Nigerian Police over alleged blackmail

Canadian based singer Stephanie Otobohas been re-arraigned by the Nigerian Police alongside one Wisdom Godstimeover alleged blackmail and threat to life, conspiracy, and intent to steal.
The Nation reports that they were arraigned before Magistrate Kikelomo Bukola-Ayeye of the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The police had, while seeking a remand order on March 6, accused the duo of “terrorism”.
Magistrate Bukola-Ayeye ruled that the police lacked substantial evidence to support the accusation.
The prosecutor, M. A Animashaun, informed the court that the defendants and others at large allegedly committed the offence at about 10.30AM on February 14, 2017, at Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.
Animashaun said that the suspects conspired to steal by demanding for property with menace and attempted to extort money from Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) Worldwide.
The prosecutor, accusing the suspects of blackmail, added that they “unlawfully demanded the immediate payment of $1million to Otobo by Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the president and founder of Omega Fire Ministry Worldwide, else she would call a press conference and accuse him of committing adultery with her and thereafter kill him.”
Animashaun claimed Stephanie threatened to call a press conference, where she planned to accuse Suleman of adultery and threatening to kill her.
He added that the offences are punishable under sections 411, 301 and 303 of the criminal law of Lagos state 2015.
Stephanie Otobo and her co-defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
They were then granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each. The case was then adjourned to April 27 for commencement of trial.

Full Transcript: Tonto Dikeh’s estranged husband Olakunle Churchill’s lengthy Interview

 here is the full transcript.
Q: Who is Olakunle Churchill?
A: Olakunle Churchill is a philanthropist and the chairman of Big Church group of companies. We have six subsidiaries; Big Church Haven LTD, King Andrea Realtors, Big Church Consult, Big Church Entertainment, Big Church Green Agriculture and Mining, Big Church foundation.
Q: How did you meet Tonto Dikeh?
A: I met her at my brother’s birthday party at Escape night club two and half years ago.
Q: What then transpired?
A: We became friends, we exchanged contact and got along. After six months she got pregnant, so I decided to take her to her hometown to pay her dowry.
Q: In her recent interview she said she watched you make every dime you have now.
A: No that’s not possible, I met her two year, six months ago and I’ve been into real estate since I was 22 years old so I don’t understand where that is coming from.
Q: So are you saying that you were already made before you met Tonto and married her?
A: Well, I can’t say I’m made yet but I’ve been working since I was 22 and I’m good. When I met her, I had 4 companies and now I have 6 companies, people grow every day.
Q: Tell us about the incident that happened in Ghana?
A: I picked her from the airport just a day before her birthday, which was June 8, 2015. We had a misunderstanding and she decided to go to an hotel. I sent her a text the next day that I was going for a friend’s house warming, I got a call that she came home around 3, 4 and started breaking everything in the house. Luckily for me, I switched off the electric fence wire before I left the house, she started from the electric fence, pulled it down and jumped into my compound. I called the police and they were already in my house before I got there. My neighbors also called the police because of the noise, where I live in Ghana is very calm.
Q: What happened when the police got to the house?
A: When the police got to the house, she started attacking them and was about tearing their cloths. There’s this thing about my wife, it’s just like a crisis, it doesn’t stop for like two to three hours. I’m sorry I’m saying this, but I have to.
Q: What do you mean by crisis?
A: She gets too temperamental due to negative intakes. Alcohol abuse is negative, Marijuana is negative, anything that has something to do with drug abuse is negative. At the long run we got to the police station and she was rude to the superintendent of the police there. When her anger starts, even six men can’t hold Tonto down, talkless of me hitting Tonto. She uses everything she has to fight and destroys everything to zero. All I did was hold her at some point but it didn’t help. Even the police were surprised, she even spat on one of them. When she granted the last interview, she mentioned Ghana embassy and police. Ghana Police took her to the embassy because she was unable to pay for the damages and the embassy pleaded on her behalf. When that event took place, I covered everything. I took everyone’s phone and deleted every picture, I closed everything just to cover her because she’s a celebrity. She mentioned that she was beaten and then she ran to the embassy stark naked, and as soon as I saw that I requested for my own story and I have it here. So to those people saying I sponsored the police, you can’t sponsor Ghanaian police. This is the withdrawal letter, I can’t really explain but she destroyed a lot of things. When she’s in that state, even six men cannot hold her, even the police couldn’t stop her. So after this, she was locked up, I wrote a withdrawal letter and bailed her, I wanted her to replace my properties but I withdrew it, if not, she was going to jail. When I took her out from the cell, she said ‘if you forgive me, that means you are an angel’, and she promised never to go back to drugs or alcohol. Three weeks after this event, she took in. All through her nine months of pregnancy, she was a perfect woman and a perfect person till four months after she gave birth to King, then she started again. She has damaged over 66 million naira worth of properties. I’ve tried my best to revive her back to who she was when she was pregnant or just immediately after she had King but that’s been my major problem. I have evidences of some of the property she damaged. I have somebody around Tonto that monitors her and gives me updates on what she does; when she calls bloggers, when she tries to blackmail me, when she sends information.
Q: Tonto said you hit King your son, what led to this?
A: How would I hit King, no it’s not possible. King is not up to one year, he’s a little boy that can’t talk. What can a one year old boy do to you, that’s not possible. The day before my son’s birthday I called the nanny, and fortunately for me, the nanny was not inside the house with my wife. (Plays a recording of the phone conversation to the interviewer) I got a GMC jeep and thought I was going to be able to arrange something but all efforts proved futile. I was down on social media, I’m not a social media person but I was forced to drop comments to boost something because I was told that my wife can only be found on social media.
Q: Tonto showed several scars during the interview that she said you inflicted on her, what do you have to say to that?
A: There’s nothing like that, the only scar I’m aware about was the one on her leg. In my mum’s house, she was breaking stuffs and it got to a point that she was coming towards me, her best friend was trying to hold her back, her male best friend. It was like she was crazy, she already broke down everything: television, kitchen utensils, and dispenser. I was in shock because she has done this in my house up to four times and in seven to eight months I’ve lost over 66 million naira, but this was my mum’s house. As her best friend was trying to hold her down, her best friend is the one that gets her cloths. Infact he was crying and saying ‘ Tonto stop, what are you doing’, she just put her leg into the glass by the staircase and that’s how she got the injury. I have a video here, that’s where she got the cut from, anything apart from that is not real. (Shows the video to the interviewer) I’m a philanthropist, I’m against domestic violence, I have never raised my hands against any woman and I will never.
Q: Tonto stated that she lost her four months pregnancy due to the abuse by you?
A: There was no time, I met her six months before she conceived, then she was pregnant for another four months before she travelled, she got back and she’s been breastfeeding and she just stopped breastfeeding like three weeks ago so where’s the pregnancy from? I don’t understand. This woman told me earlier that she’s going to get everything to bring me down, because she has a foundation and I have a foundation too. Other things are involved but she’s been trying everything. I have somebody in her campaign that gives me all the updates. Even how she made all the scars in her body, she called somebody to makeup the scars. The only thing that happened to Tonto was the scars she got from my mother’s house. So I’m not a woman beater, I’ve never done that in my life and I will never beat any woman. I can never do that, but she’s trying everything hard because she knows the kind of person I am. She knows I have big plans for the future so she’s trying everything. I’m not an actor, I cannot act, I cannot cry. Her interview was like 95 percent lies; the only truth there was ‘I love my husband’. About sexual transmitted disease, I don’t even know, not in this millennium. The last time I had STD was in secondary school. At this stage of my life, STD is not possible. She’s just trying everything, I don’t know what she wants but I think she’s trying to stay out of marriage. I was not even around when she moved from my house, she came with two trucks, she moved everything and then she said that she left the house without nothing. She moved all her things, it was planned, she got another house and till date, I don’t know where she moved to. I tried to reach her even before King’s birthday but she didn’t give me access. Even till date, her family and my family tried to reconcile us for about 9 times. The ninth time was just ten days ago, and she always pretend as if we are cool but as soon as they leave, she blocks me and blocks my number so I don’t know what she wants. (Shows the interviewer the reconciliation video)
Q: Tell us about Rosaline, your wife said you left her and your son for Rosaline and that you are in love with her.
A: Rosaline Meurer has been with us since we started Big Church Foundation, I’ve known her for a very long time and she plays a major role in the foundation. My wife cannot tell me that she doesn’t know who Tonto is. I’ve known her before I met my wife and my wife has met her. It is not possible for my wife to say she has not met her before because there’s been an occasion where we hung out with Rosaline’s family and had dinner together. I have never been out of my matrimonial home for two months. We had a summit in Switzerland and I gave close to 22 people visas, all my staffs, I gave them European visas. How they got their tickets I was not aware. If I took a picture with Rosaline, maybe a group picture. If she has the picture let her bring it out. I never took a picture with Rosaline apart from group pictures. Tonto is just trying to bring out evidence that can nail me down. My wife cannot tell me she doesn’t know Rosaline, she’s major in anything that has to do with young ones and children, mother and child in my office. My wife actually knows all my workers, so I don’t know where that’s coming from. My wife is trying to show the world a negative side of me, and I’m not like that. I’m not a woman beater and I never had any issue with my wife about any woman. I heard when she said she pulled me up from a woman. It’s not possible, Tonto Dikeh, pull me up from a woman, where? Is it in my matrimonial home or where? We never had major problems, no cheating, no threats, but just a little domestic issue and she switches. She’s destroyed properties worth 66 million in less than seven months.
Q: Has there been a scenario where she fought your mum or has she been abusive to her verbally?
A: Yes to verbally but she has not fought my mum. The event took place at my mum’s house, I said it earlier. I told you earlier that Tonto is temperamental and she fights like six in one, she destroys everything. You cannot hold her talkless of beating her. She was dealing with me, I can’t say she was beating me. What she does is jack your cloth and makes sure she destroys it. What happened was, my mum intruded as she was holding me and she elbowed my mum and my mum fell down. So at that point, I thought that was extreme, I didn’t beat her, I just packed one or two things and went to Ghana. Tonto has an event, a road construction thing in Abuja which was just two days after the incident. Even in the scene, she bit my younger brother in two places for no reason as he was holding her and telling her to stop.
Q: Tonto said you never told her about your first marriage and that you have kids outside wedlock; 9 months and 2 years old children.
A: She said they called her, I watched the interview, and it’s not true. Tonto likes social media and I don’t like social media. She was all about Mr X and so on, so someone attacked her page, that was when I first met Tonto. The person called her a husband snatcher and warned her to leave her husband alone. My wedding pictures went viral so how come she doesn’t know I was married before. It was like 7 months after that I went to Port Harcourt to pay dowry. It was on the newspaper and everywhere that Tonto’s Mr X is married, so how come she didn’t know. The two year and nine months old boy or girl l have, should come out. I’m well educated and that’s why I wanted a family, I don’t do two women. Why are these women calling Tonto and not my mother?
Q: Tonto said the GMC car you claimed to have bought for King as his birthday gift is an internet photo and also that all the gifts she put on instagram were actually bought by her and not you.
A: No, that’s not true, I love to buy gifts for my wife always. I’m a busy man, I’m too occupied, to the point that I break down attimes so I buy these gifts to compensate her. I have the receipts, even the Rolex she was putting on in her interview, I bought it. I bought the GMC for my son, like I said, I wanted it to be like a surprise, but unfortunately I didn’t have access to him. I have all the receipts, and the GMC is real, I bought it for King but was unable to see him and present it. I know some day we will all be together again. I was not at home when Tonto packed her things but I had a discussion with her about going to rehab because of what had been happening so far after she gave birth to King. I think that may be the reason why she left the house.
Q: Are you open to reconciliation?
A: Actually I’ve tried up to nine times, the last time was when I invited her dad and the high chiefs. Each time we try to reconcile, she blocks me the next day. She pretends like she cool but at the end she’s not, but I still have her pictures on my instagram but I don’t think she’s ready. The car she said she sold, the Prado, I still have the original documents so I don’t know how she sold the car and in the system it’s not showing that the car is sold or that the car is missing. The car is still registered under Big Churchill HAVEN LTD. It is very painful that people would make up their minds after listening to one side of the story. All I did was love and honour my wife, and it hurts when i see the lies and deceit all over social media.
Thanks to MRH for coming through, Olakunle Churchill as you all know is a philanthropist, and is against domestic violence. I have never raised my hand on any woman and I will never. My wife was pregnant and she gave birth to King and there was nowhere she was pregnant for four months and lost it. It never happened, I’m here to clear my name and that of my company and brand. Thanks for coming through.
Q: Sorry, my last question, when you met Tonto, did you see or not see signs that Tonto might be temperamental?
A: Well, everybody said I saw this coming, that it was inevitable with my choice of wife. Facts and events were put before me; drugs and alcohol abuse, her philandering ways, and even talks of psychotic tendencies. Everyone has a past, even i inclusive, so I chose not to be judgmental. I turned a blind eye and deaf ears to the stern warnings, anonymous calls, and text messages that barraged me in the events leading up to the wedding. Even when I witnessed firsthand how temperamental and destructive she could get at the slightest provocation, I still saw good in her, and felt she was misjudged by many. I believed she would not only make me an awesome wife, but a wonderful mother to our children. If you call this love, you just might be right

Nigerians are 6th happiest in Africa, Norway now the happiest place on Earth.

Despite the economic recession, Nigerians are Africa’s sixth happiest people, according to  a new report released on Monday that called on nations to build social trust and equality to improve the well-being of their citizens.

Algeria leads the rest of Africa in happiness, followed by Mauritius.

Strife-torn Libya is surprisingly ranked third, ahead of Morocco. And even a bigger surprise, another crisis-torn nation, Somalia is Africa’s fifth happiest country ahead of Nigeria and South Africa, ranked 7th. Tunisia is eighth and Egypt ninth, while Sierra Leone is tenth.

At the bottom ten are Benin, Madagascar, South Sudan, Liberia, Guinea, Togo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and the worst of them, Central African Republic.

On the global stage, Norway displaced Denmark as the world’s happiest country.

The Nordic nations are the most content, according to the World Happiness Report 2017 produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative launched by the United Nations in 2012.

Countries in sub-Saharan Africa, along with Syria and Yemen, are the least happy of the 155 countries ranked in the fifth annual report released at the United Nations.

“Happy countries are the ones that have a healthy balance of prosperity, as conventionally measured, and social capital, meaning a high degree of trust in a society, low inequality and confidence in government,” Jeffrey Sachs, the director of the SDSN and a special advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General, said in an interview.
The aim of the report, he added, is to provide another tool for governments, business and civil society to help their countries find a better way to wellbeing.

Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden rounded out the top ten countries.

Germany was ranked 16, followed by the United Kingdom (19) and France (31). The United States dropped one spot to 14.

Sachs said the United States is falling in the ranking due to inequality, distrust and corruption. Economic measures that the administration of President Donald Trump is trying to pursue, he added, will make things worse.

“They are all aimed at increasing inequality – tax cuts at the top, throwing people off the healthcare rolls, cutting Meals on Wheels in order to raise military spending. I think everything that has been proposed goes in the wrong direction,” he explained.
The rankings are based on six factors — per capita gross domestic product, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, social support and absence of corruption in government or business.

“The lowest countries are typically marked by low values in all six variables,” said the report, produced with the support of the Ernesto Illy Foundation.

Sachs would like nations to follow United Arab Emirates and other countries that have appointed Ministers of Happiness.

“I want governments to measure this, discuss it, analyze it and understand when they have been off on the wrong direction,” he said.

According to the report, “the average ladder scores for over four in five African countries are below the mid-point of the scale. And only two African countries have made significant gains in happiness over the past decade .

There are also considerable inequalities in life evaluations in African countries, and this inequality in happiness has increased over the past years” .

The report also shows that Africans are optimistic about the future, with Nigerians the leaders in this regard.
“The majority of African countries rate life at present below the mid-point of the Cantril ladder scale in the latest available Gallup World Poll.

“This is not the case for average future ratings. Projected ladder ratings in five years’ time are uniformly higher than present evaluations across all countries on the continent. In fact, the percentage increase in future expectations of life is often higher among some of the least contented nations.

“Nigeria’s track record of such positive expectations is well documented. Cantril’s 1960s study already reported a difference of 2.6 points between the country’s average present (4.8) and future (7.4) ladder ratings.

“Similarly, in 2016, there is a difference of 2.9 points between Nigeria’s present (5.3) and future (8.2) ratings in the Gallup World Poll. An international study of comparative ladder ratings in ten countries with large populations, including China, India and the United States, found Nigeria’s 2.6 point difference between present and future ratings to be by far the largest.83 Nigeria’s spirit of optimism may be exceptional by world standards, but not in Africa.”

Chaos At Jos Airport: Passengers Block Arik Air Flight From Taking Off

The Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang in Plateau State on Sunday was in a state of chaos as passengers prevented the takeoff of a flight.

According to reports, Arik Air sent a 70-passenger plane to convey over 140 passengers who booked tickets for Lagos.

A passenger said tickets were booked for Sunday 1pm to Lagos and they were surprised when Arik sent a plane that could only accommodate about 70 passengers.

The passenger said the small plane had landed at 1:15 pm but passengers who were not given boarding pass blocked the check-in, and insisted that no one would leave unless the airline was able to convey all the passengers.
By 3:43pm, the passengers reached an agreement to allow all those with connecting international flights, women and children and the elderly to board the first flight while others waited for another plane which they claimed Arik official assured them would take off from Kaduna to Jos.
